Forty-one young city shapers mapped pedestrian conflict points, then built the fixes with residents.

Cohort 5 spent eight months on four downtown blocks, counting crossings, timing signals and interviewing the vendors and school children who use the pavements hardest.
The pilot crossings, kerb extensions and shaded waiting areas they built have now been adopted into four ward plans.
Applications for Cohort 6 open in September. Priority goes to applicants living in the townships where the work happens.
