A market alley in Pabedan, one year on
The stewardship agreement is what kept it clean, not the design.

A year after handover, the Pabedan alley garden is still swept daily, still planted, and still hosting the evening market that pays for its upkeep.
The design was the easy part. The resident committee, its maintenance budget and a written stewardship agreement are what made it last.
Twenty-six committees now govern shared assets across downtown. Their agreements are openly published for other wards to copy.
